Manufacturing Technician – Wire EDM, Lapping & Honing

Full Time- Nights shift- Sunday to Thursday- 10pm to 6am

Solihull, Birmingham, UK.

What you will be doing:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a for a Manufacturing Technician to join us within the Rolls-Royce Control Systems facility in Solihull, Birmingham.

You will work as part of our Hydromechanical Valves production team and play a critical role in the production of high-precision components for our Civil and Defence Aerospace businesses, ensuring components are of the highest standard, ensuring safety, customer quality and on time delivery following established working processes and quality procedures.

You will report directly to the Production Leaders within the business.

Responsibilities:

You will operate, maintain, and optimise advanced machining equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Machining Operations

• Set up, operate, and monitor Agie Wire EDM. These will include manual lapping and Hone of Valve sleeves.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and working instructions to produce components to exact tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, callipers, CMM’s) to ensure compliance with Rolls-Royce quality standards.

Process Optimisation

• Identify and help implement improvements to manufacturing processes whilst collaborating with our Manufacturing Engineers to enhance productivity, reduce
